A local property owner hoses down where a grass fire flared up near Mudgegonga following the major blaze, Tuesday 10th February 2009. An estimated 30,000ha of land was turned black on Saturday the 7th of February in the 'Beechworth fire'. The Beechworth fire was one of many bush fires that raised the state of Victoria killing hundreds of people and destroying over 750 homes.
